ALBANY, NY – On Tuesday at a legislative hearing about Governor Cuomo’s proposed state budget for environmental conservation, Senator O’Mara and Senator Helming asked NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Basil Seggos, why the Governor Cuomo did not include Canandaigua, Keuka and Seneca lakes on the state’s list of 12 priority lakes for action to combat harmful algal blooms. We emailed the governor’s office for a response, but have not heard back from them as of yet.
