Sheriff Dougherty: Car Full Of Marijuana On It’s Way To Arkport, Stopped In West Sparta

WEST SPARTA, NY – Livingston County Sheriff Tom Dougherty reports that a tip came in this morning, to the sheriff’s office tip line in Geneseo, and that tip has resulted in the arrest of a 53 year old male, from the Town of Rush.

The tip that came in, was about a vehicle, filled with marijuana plants, coming in from East Avon, into Arkport. The caller gave out specific information about the vehicle, and that car was found by Captain Norm Zeh, on 390, in West Sparta. Officials say that inside the vehicle, was 20 small marijuana plants.

Christopher Erbe, 53, of Rush, NY, was charged and released, and will appear in court at a later date.

“I am very thankful for the person who took the time to make this tip,” stated Sheriff Dougherty. “When members of our community step up and give us information such as in this case, we always follow up on it and try our very best to intercept these drug transfers. For those that say ‘go find the harder drugs like heroin or cocaine’ I would encourage you to come forward with information related to those drugs and we will gladly intercept those drug transfers; that is a promise.”
