Stacy E. Pierce, of Alfred

ALFRED-Stacy E. Pierce, 81, of Glen Street, passed away Sunday (August 7, 2016) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

Born in North Hornell, May 3, 1935, the son of Kenneth and Elizabeth Breadon Pierce, he had resided in the area all of his life. He was a graduate of Alfred-Almond Central School District, and had owned and operated Stacy’s Corner Barber Shop in Alfred for several years. He was also a self-taught upholsterer. He was a loving husband to his wife Portia McManus Pierce who preceded him in death in 1995; he was an awesome dad and grandpa. Stacy loved to cook, to be in the outdoors, Bluegrass music, and especially fishing. Stacy was a member of the Hornell United Presbyterian Church and served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. He was a former member of the Alfred Masonic Lodge.

He was predeceased by his wife Portia and his parents.

He is survived by 1 son; Roy (Kristi) Pierce of Erie Pa, 2 daughters; Marilou (Jamie) Colern of Rochester , Karen (Thomas) Smith of Hornell , 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 1 sister; Zona (Bruce) Hitchock of West Almond as well as nieces and nephews.

The family will be present on Friday (August 12, 2016) from 2-4 and 6-8PM, at the Robertson Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. Funeral services will be held on Saturday (August 13, 2016) at 1PM, the Rev. Katherine Bauman Griffis officiating. Burial and military honors will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Alfred Station.
