State Assembly To Hold Heroin Hearings in Olean

October 5, 2015

OLEAN, NY – The New York State Assembly Minority Task Force on Heroin Addiction & Community Response has reconvened.

The task force will host regional forums aimed at identifying problems and weaknesses in current efforts to combat the rampant heroin epidemic. This forum, one in a series of statewide events, will take place on Thursday, October 8 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Jamestown Community College Olean Campus, CUTCO Theater/Magnano Reception Room, 260 North Union St, Olean.

“What is happening in our communities is nothing short of a tragedy. By holding this series of forums, we are renewing our dedication to finding a long-term and efficient remedy to treat those affected by heroin addiction and implement better prevention efforts,” said Assemblyman Joseph M. Giglio (R,C,I-Gowanda), task force Chairman. “It cannot be overstated how important it is that we take a long, hard look at heroin addiction prevention and treatment and identify their shortcomings. By doing so, we can provide the necessary tools to those who deal with it day in and day out.”
