ALBANY, NY – State Comptroller Tom Dinapoli says that the Empire State Development corporation is giving tax breaks to big companies for job creation, when those companies really are not creating the number of jobs required for the tax breaks. State Comptroller Dinapoli also says that Empire State Development is not providing proper documentation about job creation claims.
The ESD spokesman says the Dinapoli report is inaccurate.

UPDATE: 2:17pm – No area companies were on the list of the 72 businesses that are receiving funding, but are not on quarterly reports.
