State Police Charged Out of Town Father and Son For Drug Possession In Bath

BATH, NY – Bath and North Hornell State Troopers did a traffic stop of car on I-86 in Bath, for alleged vehicle and traffic violations. Troopers say that the driver was Michael L. Ward, 45, and his son, Coty Ward, 20, both of Oneonta. State Police say they smelled Marihuana in the vehicle, and that Michael Ward was taken into custody after not getting out of the car when told to. State Police report that they found .9 ounces of suspected Hashish oil, 3.9 ounces of packaged Marihuana, 2 smoking devices containing marihuana residue and 20 containers used for storing Hashish oil.

Michael Ward was arraigned in the Town of Bath Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 property bond. Coty Ward was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree and arraigned in the Town of Bath Court. Coty Ward was remanded to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 property bond. Both suspects were ordered to reappear in the Town of Bath Court on October 3, at 3pm.
