Steuben Co. Legislature To Award Construction Bids

March 24, 2017

BATH, NY – Steuben County Legislative spokesperson Mary Perham has put out the following statement:

Awarding bids for the construction of an office building and records storage outbuilding, and setting the date for the Steuben County Real Property Auction top the agenda of county legislators when they meet in regular session at 10 a.m. Monday in the County Office Building, 3 E. Pulteney Square. The combined cost of the two projects was estimated earlier at $8.7 million with construction expected to begin in early May. Steuben officials have been concerned for years about the lack of space at the county building and the inconvenience for residents looking for services. In addition, the county now houses electronic voting machines and state-required records at the Old Health Care Facility on Mount Washington. Plans call for the new office building to be built on East Morris Street, and the storage facility to be located on Mount Washington. The projects follow a two-year-long study by county legislators on expansion options proposed by project engineer LaBella Associates.
