Street Paving/Repairs Completed for Summer in City

October 20, 2016

HORNELL, NY – DPW head Mitch Cornish updated the mayor on road and parking lot repairs that have been going on all summer in the city. “We just finished up a couple of alleys that were overlaid, parking lot number four (behind Billy Shu’s restaurant) has been restriped and paved,” said Cornish. Parking lot number one (behind Stearn’s Poultry) is due for next year.

Also there is an 18 inch main being replaced on Pine Street that is halfway completed and should be finished in a week or two.

In all Cornish was pleased with the progress the city made on road repairs stating that 18 streets have undergone paving and repairs over the course of the summer. “We have had a very nice, busy summer,” concluded Cornish.

And finally Cornish wanted to remind residents that it is leave raking season and not to just rake leaves into the streets, bag them and place them by the curb and call the city who will come pick them up.
