Tonight’s Hornell Homecoming Game Delayed: Game Officials Say Due To A Tornado Warning

HORNELL, NY – 7:30pm – Local sportscaster Pat McHale, speaking moments ago from Hornell High School, said on the radio that officials are delaying tonight’s game Homecoming games, because of a Tornado Warning. Wlea checked with meterologist Scott Kaplan who said that there had been warnings for Allegany and Cattraugus and that a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued this evening for Steuben County. Scott Kaplan says that this is due to storms from towns West of Hornell.

Update: 8:11pm – The teams, the cheerleaders, parents, families and fans who were at the Homecoming Game tonight were told by Hornell Police to go inside Hornell High School at about 7:30pm. We’re still waiting to hear from sources, to find out if the game will resume or be cancelled, and if/when those inside Hornell High School go back outside again, we’ll let you know.

Update: 9:51pm: The Friday night Hornell Homecoming Game was called off, the game will be played this Sunday, September 23, at 1pm at Hornell High.
