At the Canisteo Town monthly meeting, Canisteo Town Highway Superintendent Carl Howland requested that the town board let the the highway department have $5,000, to pay for a part time helper. That resolution was voted down.
There is a new lease agreement between the Canisteo Town Dog Control Officer and the Towns of Jasper and Howard. Canisteo will be charging $30.00 a day the first day, and then $5.00 a day (for up to 10 days). After 10 days, the fee goes to $10.00 a day.
The Town of Canisteo is looking at the more expensive option for building a new roof on the town hall. Officials say that they might spend up to $14,000. The Canisteo Town board officials say that they will be putting that up for bid.
