Hornellsville Town Supervisor Dan Broughton

ARKPORT, NY – At Tuesday evening monthly meeting, the Hornellsville Town Board had some more good news from Clerk Sharon Ames. Including another 103 dog licenses, the Town brought in $1,558.38 in revenue for the month of June.

The Town Justices also had good months for May and June with Rich Scavo bringing in $12,979 in court fines and fees and Madeleine Seaman bringing in $3,230.

Also, two resolutions were passed pertaining to budget modifications. $18,500 was allocated to the highway fund from the sale of equipment, and $2,614 was added to the general fund. The board also approved a $600 contribution for Arkport Summer Fest.

Highway Superintendent Jason Emo was also busy in June fixing roads by and laying down oil and stone and filling in potholes. He also added a School Bus Stop Ahead sign for Alfred Almond Central School.

Financial matters were also looking good with Town Supervisor Dan Broughton reporting that as of June 30th, 2019 the town had $1,413,000 surplus in their account.

And finally, in the Public Comment session of the meeting, another Hornellsville resident showed up and questioned why he was paying for a sewer service when there is no such service near his house. This is the second such person enquiring about this in as many weeks. Broughton said that he would look into the matter.

At the end of the meeting, the board went into an executive session to discuss personal matters.
