LINDLEY, NY – State Police are reporting the arrest of Earl Wilson, 41, of Beaver Dams, after an alleged high speed chase in the Town of Lindley.

According to troopers, Wilson was seen driving on State Route 15, traveling at 97 miles per hour. State Police say that the trooper activated his emergency lighting and attempted to stop Wilson, who failed to comply.

Officials report that the vehicle pursuit ended on a power line in the Town of Lindley. Earl Wilson is alleged to have attempted to flee on foot. The trooper apprehended Wilson shortly into the foot chase.

Wilson was issued tickets for Unlicensed Operation 2nd, unsafe passing, failure to comply, reckless driving, and DWI. According to State Police, Wilson was found to have a blood alcohol content of .17%. Wilson was also charged with Unlawful Fleeing. He was arraigned in the Town of Lindley and remanded to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of bail.

Wilson’s passenger JoAnne Dukes was found to possess several pills outside of their original container. The pills were found to be controlled substances. Dukes was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th, and Controlled Substance Non Original Container. Dukes was released on an appearance ticket and is to appear in the Town of Lindley Court on May 20, 2014 at 6:00 PM.
