Troopers Make Four Drug Arrests In Steuben County

STEUBEN COUNTY, NY – State Police have made four drug arrests in Steuben County this week, two suspects were charged in Bath, and two suspects were charged in Corning. The four suspects are Amy Nichols, 42, Addison, Noel Campbell, 33, Bath, Randy Brown, 60, Corning and AmyJo Ayers, 41, Bath. Amy Nichols and Noel Campbell are accused of having meth, crack cocaine, hydrocodone and marijuana inside their vehicle, when it was pulled over on Monday in Bath. Randy Brown and AmyJo Ayers are accused of selling and possessing methamphetamines, and those arrests stem from a traffic stop in Corning.

Highway Interdiction efforts by the New York State Police in Steuben County have resulted in multiple arrests for drug-related offenses. In a concerted effort conducted on March 12th, 2018, Troopers from the Bath and North Hornell barracks arrested Amy M. Nichols, age 42, of Addison, New York, for one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree (a class “D” Felony) and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. A second person, Noel Campbell, age 33, of Bath, New York, was also arrested and charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree (a class “D” Felony), two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree (a class “A” misdemeanor), Unlawful Possession of Marihuana (a violation), and Driving while Ability Impaired (a traffic law misdemeanor) as well as violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law. As a result of a traffic stop in the Town of Bath, Nichols and Campbell were found to be in possession of approximately two grams of methamphetamine which was packaged for sale, as well as a quantity of crack cocaine, hydrocodone, and marihuana, while Campbell was operating the vehicle under the suspected influence of drugs. Upon arraignment in the Town of Bath Court, Nichols and Campbell were remanded to the Steuben County Jail on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bail bond and were scheduled to reappear in court at a later date.

While investigating suspected narcotics sales in the Bath and Corning areas, New York State Police from the Painted Post barracks executed a traffic stop in the City of Corning which resulted in additional arrests. Randy Brown, age 60, of Corning, New York, was charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 5th degree (a class “D” felony) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (a class “A” misdemeanor). A second person, AmyJo Ayers, age 41, of Bath, New York was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (a class “A” misdemeanor). As a result of the traffic stop, Brown was confirmed to have sold methamphetamine earlier in the day and both he and Ayers were found in possession of an additional quantity of the drug, as well as paraphernalia and a digital scale. A third person who was operating the vehicle was interviewed and released. Randy Brown was arraigned in the Town of Corning Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail with no bail. AmyJo Ayers was issued an Appearance Ticket returnable to the Town of Corning Court at a later date and released.
