HORNELL, NY – Leslie Danks-Burke (D, Tompkins County) was at the Main Place on Main Street in Hornell on Tuesday morning in the 9am hour, on the campaign trail. Danks-Burke is running for New York State Senator Tom O’Mara’s seat, which is the 58th senate district, covering Steuben, Chemung, Schuyler, and Yates counties, and in Tompkins County, Ithaca and Enfield, Newfield and Ulysses.

“I am excited, because today we are launching my campaign for New York State Senate,” Danks-Burke told those present at the Main Place. “There is no better place to do this than Hornell. I’m want to share with you why I’m doing this. I’m doing it, because we can do better. We need jobs that pay, we need good schools, and our land and our farms need our support. I’m going to get those things, because for me, it’s personal. I’m a parent, I’m a daughter of farmers, and I’m a taxpayer. I see clearly that we are not getting what we need from Albany. We all know that Albany is broken, we know our schools are shortchanged, our jobs are leaving and our roads and bridges have been ignored.”
