Wild Bar Fight In Hornell

HORNELL, NY – Hornell Police Chief Ted Murray says there was an assault at a bar in Hornell. Chief Murray says on Saturday night at about 11:30, there was a fight between two women at a bar. The suspect is Tina Wightman, 46, of Hornell, she is accused of breaking a beer bottle and cutting someone with it. Tina Wightman was charged with 2nd degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon in the 4th degree, the victim was treated and released from St James Hospital. The injuries to the victim were not life threatening.

Tina Wightman was arraigned in Hornell City Court and sent to Steuben County Jail. Police Chief Murray says there might be other charges in this assault case. Also, Hornell Police also charged Carter Snyder, 49, formerly of Hornell, now living in Dalton. Snyder who was at the scene, was wanted on a felony bench warrant for allegedly making meth, and was charged by Hornell Police for allegedly having amphetamines on him at the time of the fight in Hornell on Saturday night.
