December 12, 2018

WYOMING COUNTY, NY – State Police report that 48 year old man from Castille, attacked Wyoming County Sheriff Greg Rudolph with a knife. According to State Troopers, Sheriff Rudolph was driving through Attica on his way to work yesterday morning. 48 year old Lynn Hall is said to have been driving behind the sheriff, when the sheriff saw Hall flashing his headlights. The sheriff said he thought Hall was flashing his headlights because he probably needed help with something, and officials say that when Hall got out of his car, he jumped the sheriff with a knife, threatening to kill him. The sheriff was rescued by a state trooper and two newspaper delivery drivers, all of whom saw the assault in progress. The sheriff was treated for non-life threatening injuries and the case is being investigated by state police. Sheriff Rudolph says he remembers that he met Hall recently, when Hall applied to get a gun.
