April 10th: 79 Year Old Man Dies In Hornell Area Nursing Home

April 10, 2020

From The Steuben County Public Health Nurse:

The Steuben County Public Health Department received notification of the death of an individual who previously tested positive for COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in Steuben County to eight. The individual was a 79 year old male who died at a nursing home in the Hornell area.
“It is a difficult responsibility to have to report a growing number of COVID-19 related deaths in Steuben County,” said Public Health Director, Darlene Smith. “Let’s all protect our loved ones now by staying home and only congregating with those we live with, so that in the future we can all come together again.”
All residents should continue to stay home and monitor themselves for COVID-19 symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath and contact their healthcare provider for instructions if feeling ill.
