Wlea asked Assemblyman Joe Giglio, where he stood on the issue of vaccines. This is his statement:
“The proposal to mandate HPV vaccines is an offshoot of the elimination of the religious exemption for childhood vaccinations and is a further intrusion on parental rights. I voted against the legislation restricting parental decision-making on childhood vaccinations in the past, and I plan to vote against this bill if it comes to the Assembly floor. As I’ve expressed in the past, public hearings should be held to give parents a place to air their concerns. Doctors need to testify to address this issue, and federal officials may need to get involved.”
