Assemblywoman Byrnes: Big Chase In Livingston Co, Bail Reform Lets Suspect Get Away

There was a police chase in Livingston County on I-390: high rates of speed, vehicle crossed median traveling southbound in northbound lane, vehicle crossed back, crashed in the median and burst into flames. The deputy sees a male outside of the car and puts him in the back seat of a patrol vehicle. The deputy rushes to see if anyone else is in the car. The male in patrol vehicle manages to open divider to get into front seat and steal patrol vehicle resulting in another high speed chase and another crash. Suspect then flees on foot and is captured. Suspect taken to hospital. At his arraignment, due to Bail Reform, the judge was mandated to release him.
