Gillibrand Voted Against John King Becoming Education Secretary

WASHINGTON, DC – Newsday reports that the controversial former New York State Education Commissioner John King, who was responsible for the rollout of Common Core in New York State, was confirmed as national education secretary.
 
Senator Chuck Schumer was a yes vote, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand was a no vote. Gillibrand was quoted as saying that King left New Yorkers without a voice and she said she cannot support king at this time.
