Governor Cuomo Calls State Schools A “Public Monopoly”

ALBANY, NY  –  Governor Andrew Cuomo reportedly called schools a “public monopoly”, which has more than irritated the state teachers union NYSUT.

Karen Magee of NYSUT is quoted as giving the following response:

“It is not a monopoly. It is the centerpiece of our democracy and what makes our nation great. Reclaiming the promise of public education should be our singular focus,” she said in a statement.
