Hornell Assistant Judge Retiring

Hornell’s Part Time Judge Retiring
January 14, 2014

The Hornell Common Council tonight has begun the search for a new part time judge to take over for the current assistant, David Shults, as state law mandates that judges retire at the age of 70.

A part time judge is required to respond to any matter wherein the full time judge, Joe Damrath, is unable to preside over such matters as arraignments or cases where the Sitting Judge must recuse himself due to potential conflicts.
