Hornell City Employee Spotlight

October 21, 201

HORNELL, NY – From Mayor John Buckley: The City of Hornell Employee Spotlight shines on Kathryn Davies.
If you have been in downtown Hornell lately you have surely noticed the bright and vibrant mums around the clock, at the entrance to Broadway and in front of the Community Arts Center. These bright and colorful mums are the work of City employee Kathryn Davies.

Kathryn first started with the city in 2020 as a Crossing Guard and has since grown into a number of different roles. This year, in addition to her role as a Crossing Guard she has been taking care of the flowers and downtown area; keeping it looking fresh, colorful and vibrant, helping to make downtown a place to appreciate.

“We have received so many compliments on the downtown area this year”, said Mayor John Buckley, as he presented her with a certificate highlighting ‘her diligence, dedication and commitment to making downtown beautiful’. “You have done a phenomenal job with the flowers, mums and manicuring around the business district. It’s wonderful to see downtown looking so colorful and vibrant.”

Thank you, Kathryn, for all that you do to make Hornell beautiful.
