BATH, NY – A Steuben County Court official told WLEA News this afternoon that the Jen Speed jury trial has been moved to September 21 at 9:30am.
The trial was originally scheduled to begin on Monday, June 22.
Speed, a former Hornell Police Officer, is accused of stealing $15,000 from the Hornell Police Department’s evidence room. The money was taken by Hornell Police from a suspect, after a 2012 stabbing incident.
After being charged with stealing the evidence room money in December, 2013, Speed’s attorney, James Riotto of Rochester stated that Speed “zealously maintains her innocence.”
