HORNELL, NY – From Mayor John Buckley:
As we look forward to the start of a new school year, I want to remind residents that there is no smoking (including marijuana), vaping or other tobacco use within 30 feet of any and all school bus stops within the City of Hornell while students are present.
I give you this reminder not only as the mayor, but as a parent and lifelong resident of our community; we all want to provide our children with the safest and best possible environment. As you are passing by or waiting at school bus stops this year, I ask you to be mindful of our children and to refrain from the use of any and all tobacco products, smoking (including marijuana) and vaping. Children are one of life’s most precious gifts and we have a responsibility as parents and citizens of this community to protect them in any way we can.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work together as a community to protect our Children. I wish all of our children and families a fun, safe and successful 2021-22 school year.
