With the new year, comes a new rule: The Department of Environmental Conservation says that starting today, New York State residents should no longer throw out electronic equipment in the trash, on a curbside, in landfills, or waste to energy facilities.
The new rules from the D.E.C. also say to recycle the electronic devices and equipment, and to be sure to erase any personal data before recycling.
