The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office will hold its biannual Prescription Drug Take Back Day event from 10 am to 2 pm Saturday (Oct. 23) at the Public Safety Building lobby. An effective way to prevent the misuse and abuse of prescription medications, Prescription Take Back Day offers residents a safe, convenient and responsible way to dispose of unused, unwanted, and expired medications. During Steuben’s April 2021 Take Back Day, 135 pounds of medication were collected and incinerated by the Drug Enforcement Administration in Rochester. Deputies and Prevention Coalition members will be on hand to take your unused prescription drugs from the security of your vehicle.
“The Steuben County Sheriff’s take back day this Saturday is anonymous and a tried-and-true way for you to dispose of prescriptions. You can prevent drug abuse.”
