Reed Announced Big Grant For BOCES In Allegany County

October 12, 2020

Congressman Tom Reed has announced that there’s a grant for just over $705,000 for telemedicine for the Cattaraugus-Allegany-Erie-Wyoming BOCES. “The Southern Tier Health Care System will receive $218,557, and Cattaraugus-Allegany-Erie-Wyoming BOCES will receive $486,510. The funding will help support education and training for opioid and substance abuse services in rural New York, as well as increase distance learning at Cattaraugus-Allegany-Erie-Wyoming Board of Cooperative Educational Services (CA BOCES) partner school.

“We care about our region’s access to critical federal resources like these grants because COVID-19 has reaffirmed the positive impact virtual services like telemedicine and distance learning can have on communities across the 23rd district,” said Tom. “We were proud to support this funding and are glad to see that it will be used to help working families, teachers, students, and those with specific medical needs. It is only fair that these resources continue to flow to our region so we can ensure everyone can utilize the educational and health care services they deserve.”
