Rochester Judge Orders A Stay, On Judge McAllister’s Ruling

April 4, 2022

Judge Stephen Lindley, a 4th Department Appellate Division of the State Supreme Court, has issued a “stay” on Judge McAllister’s ruling. Last week, McAllister ruled that the state and congressional maps were unconstitutional.

There will be a hearing on Thursday in Justice Lindley’s court in Rochester, where it will be decided if the stay remains in place.

One source says, that Justice Lindley is a moderate Democrat, and that the Democrats went to an intermediate appellate court judge, possibly in order to stall and keep the process going so long, that it will make it difficult for new maps to be drawn this year.
