S.C.O.P.E. Demands That Senator Parker Be Removed From Office

December 21, 2018

STATEMENT FROM SCOPE:

This week New York State Senator Kevin Parker, told a Republican female staffer to “kill herself.” New Democrat Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins called Parker’s actions a “disappointment.” This is one more example of Senator Parker’s propensity for violence and specifically violence against women.

In 2008, a female Senate aide accused the Senator of pushing her during an argument smashing her glasses. In 2010, Senator Parker had to be retrained by his colleagues during a profane tirade against Senator Diane Savino.

In 2005 Senator Parker was arrested after punching a traffic agent over a traffic ticket he had been issued. In 2009, Senator Parker was charged with felony criminal mischief for attacking a New York Post photographer, the photographer’s finger was broken in that incident. Now Senator Parker tells a female staff member to kill herself.

When is enough, enough?

Clearly, Senator Parker’s criminal history and his propensity for violence make him unsuitable for public office, and a blight on the New York State Senate.

The Shooters Committee On Political Education (SCOPE) calls on Senator Parker to do the right thing and resign immediately.
In lieu of the prospect of Senator Parker’s refusal to resign, we call on Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins to take appropriate action to remove Senator Parker from the Senate. Majority Leader Cousins’ response to Senator Parker’s actions as “disappointing” outrages and should anger all New Yorkers, especially women.

Senator Parker is an embarrassment to the State of New York and the citizens of this state deserve better. Remove Senator Parker now.
