BATH, NY – Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that January was a busy month. The sheriff says, last month, investigators and deputies looked into: five deaths, eight assaults, one robbery, three burglaries, one animal cruelty investigation, a case involving three stolen vehicles, nine larcenies, four drug investigations, and one school threat investigation.
Regarding the threat against the school, Sheriff Allard says, it was an actual and valid threat, made by a juvenile, and the sheriff’s office interceded before the threat was carried out.
The case, because of the suspect’s age, is being handled in family court.
The school is not being named, because the suspect is a juvenile.
