Sheriff Todd Baxter: There Was No Active Shooter In Chili Today

CHILI, NY – UPDATE: 3:00pm The Monroe County Sheriff’s Dept and it’s law enforcement partners have determined there is no active shooter and no injuries. Scottsville Rd is reopened. We would like to thank everyone for your patience while we investigated this incident. We take every potential threat seriously.

12:56pm The Monroe County Sheriff’s Dept has received a report of a possible active shooter on Scottsville Rd. We are investigating at this time. Officials are asking our community to avoid Scottsville Rd between 390 and Paul Rd. We appreciate your patience as we assess this situation.

Update 1:04pm
Area law enforcement agencies to include, MCSO, FBI, NYSP, RPD, and our LEO partners are investigating the report of a possible active shooter in the 1200 – 1300 block of Scottsville Rd. There is no evidence of an active shooter, however every precaution is being taken at this time to thoroughly investigate this incident. There are no reported injuries.
Scottsville Rd. is closed between Paul Rd. and 390. Please continue to use alternate routes.
A search of multiple buildings is underway and the occupants have been evacuated. A K9 sweep is being conducted.
