St. James Hospital Update: Hornell Has Applied For Two New Ambulances

February 24, 2014

HORNELL, NY – Last night during the Hornell Common Council meeting, Mayor Shawn Hogan announced that Hornell has applied to get two new ambulances and a new facility to put them in.

That’s because when the hospital downsizes and starts sending patients to Dansville and Wellsville hospitals, more ambulances will be needed. It’s not certain that Hornell will actually get the funding for this from the state government.

Steuben County lawmakers, Gary Swackhamer (R, Hornell) and Randy Weaver (D, Hornell) will be on the WLEA Newsmaker Show this morning after the 8:30 news, to talk about their views on the hospital situation.
