BATH, NY – The Steuben County Board of Elections was swamped on Thursday, counting absentee ballots. The Corning area race for Steuben County Legislature between Joe Sempolinksi and Steve Mayo, took three and a half hours to work out, as the vote counting was very time consuming.
As a result, they won’t get to canvass the votes for the absentee ballots for Canisteo until this morning. The race that is still unfinished in Canisteo is the town board race between John Piesher and Larry Stephens.
