Steuben Co Public Health: J&J And Moderna Vaccines Are Available In Hornell, Bath

May 14, 2021

From Steuben County Public Health:

HORNELL – The Steuben County Public Health Department is now offering two COVID-19 vaccines at the weekday clinics in Hornell and Bath. Participants will have their choice of receiving the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine or the two-dose Moderna vaccine. Both vaccines are available for anyone age 18 and older.

Anyone who lives, works, or attends school in New York can attend either clinic to be vaccinated. The Bath clinic remains open Monday through Friday from 10 am to 2 pm and is located at the Civil Defense Training Center, 7220 State Route 54 in Bath. The Hornell clinic will be open on Tuesdays only from 10 am to 2 pm and is located at the Hornell Community Arts Center, 58 Broadway in Hornell.

Pfizer is not available at the weekday clinics. Clinics for Pfizer will be advertised on Public Health’s website and social media pages as they are scheduled in locations around the county.

“We have always strongly recommended and still do encourage eligible individuals to take the first opportunity to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, regardless of the manufacturer,” said Public Health Director, Darlene Smith. “We also understand that some have preferences on vaccine type or are more willing to receive one shot over two, which makes having the ability to offer two types of vaccines at our weekday clinics are big benefit for the community.”

To attend either clinic, participants can pre-register for an appointment time using the link found on Public Health’s COVID-19 page. Walk-ins are also accepted at both clinics, but they may have a short wait if appointment slots are already filled.

All clinic attendees must wear appropriate face coverings and will be expected to wait 15-30 minutes after vaccination for observation. Attendees should wear short sleeves or appropriate clothing for vaccination.

Residents currently under isolation or quarantine at the time of the clinic due to a positive COVID-19 test result or as a contact to a positive are not eligible to attend the clinic.
