Village Election Day Is Here

Today is village election day. Village elections are being held in North Hornell, Canisteo, Arkport, Alfred and other local villages.
 
Voting times in Arkport, Alfred, North Hornell, Canisteo and Almond: Noon to 9pm.
 
CANISTEO – Grant Seaman and Tim Harkenrider, both incumbents, are seeking re-election. Also in Canisteo, Paul Cone Jr. is running unopposed for the unexpired term of Tom Mayo. The Mayo seat has one year remaining.
 
ALFRED – There are two candidates running for trustee: incumbent Becky Prophet is seeking re-election. Andrew McMinnes Jr, the Alfred Village Democrat Chairman is running for the Brad Bowden seat, as Bowden is not seeking re-election.
 
ALMOND – Mayor John Meehan is running for re-election, and there are three people running for two village trustee seats: incumbents Tim Drum and Paul Gabriel are seeking re-election in Almond. Also, Carl Grantier is also running for the Almond Village board.
 
NORTH HORNELL – Two trustee seats are open and there are four candidates. The North Hornell village trustee candidates are Joe Ingalls, incumbent Frank Libordi, and Maureen Broughton whose running against Frank Libordi. Glenn Thomas is not seeking re-election.
 
ARKPORT – Charlie Flanders is seeking re-election as mayor, and three people are running for two village trustee seats. John Hedges is running again for village trustee, and Susie Thompson is seeking re-eleciton as trustee. Patty Amidon is running as a Democrat for trustee. Flanders, Thompson and Hedgers are all Republicans.
