17 Year Old Charged For Fatal Accident That Happened In Early September

November 1, 2018

CAMERON, NY – Steuben County State Police Senior Investigator Curt Eaton reports that a 17 year old male is in Steuben County Jail, $25,000 bail. The boy is accused of being the driver in the September 3, 2018 accident, that resulted in the death of Tessa Updyke, 19, of Kersey, Pennsylvania. Investigator Eaton maintains that the boy lied to State Police back in September, and that the boy gave troopers the false impression he was not the driver at the time of the fatal accident, in an attempt to conceal his own involvement.

The charges against the 17 year old male are: Criminally Negligent Homicide, Falsifying Business Records, Unlicensed Operation, Failure to Keep Right, and Speed Not Reasonable or Prudent.
