Hornell Man And Bath Man, Are Accused of Selling Meth

HORNELL, NY – Hornell Police did a morning traffic stop on Center Street on Wednesday morning, and charged Eugene Poteat Jr, 46, Bath, and Steven Hughes, 39, Hornell, with one count each of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree, and Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree. According to Hornell Police Investigator Tom Aini, the two suspects have been involved in selling meth.

Hornell Police also say, that Steven Hughes tried to destroy evidence (for attempting to conceal and destroy meth after being stopped and confronted by Officer J.R. Emo.

Both Poteat and Hughes were taken to Steuben County Court in Bath, for Centralized Arraignment.
