BATH, NY – The Steuben County Public Defenders Office, is getting some state grants that total about 1.2 million dollars. Officials say that the purpose of the grants is to improve the chance of Steuben County parents that are accused of neglect and abuse of getting a public defender attorney. As a result of the 1.2 million dollar grant, the county has hired an extra public defender, to help lighten the case load of the current public defenders.
