Angeline C. “Angie” Shinebarger, of Hornell

HORNELL-Angeline C. “Angie” Shinebarger, 95, of Hornell, N.Y., formerly of Huntington, Ind. passed away late Monday evening (Dec. 19, 2016) at Hornell Gardens, where she has resided for the past two years.

Born in Huntington, Ind. on March 7, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Esther (Scher) Stoffel. On Feb. 25, 1946 she was married to Harold E. Shinebarger, who predeceased her on Feb. 1, 2005, after 59 years of marriage. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by two sisters, Mary Jane Stoffel and Madonna Hochstetler and two brothers, Louis Stoffel and John Stoffel.

A resident of Huntington, Ind. for many years, Angie and Harold moved to Hornell after his retirement in 1978. While residing in Hornell she was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church.

Her loving family includes her daughter, Judith Pease of Hornell; four grandchildren, Michael Pease, Sherry Pease, Angela (Derrick) Snyder of Kane, Pa. and Elena Turner; nine great-grandchildren; her sister, Gloria Gordon formerly of Bluffton, Ind.; her two brothers, Kenneth (Rosemary) Stoffel and Wallace (Janet) Stoffel all of Huntington, Ind.; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St. in Hornell is honored to serve the family of Angeline C. Shinebarger.

There will be no calling hours. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Church in Hornell at the convenience of her family. Interment will be in the National Cemetery, Bath, N.Y.
