Hornell City Employee Under the Spotlight

April 5th, 2019

HORNELL, NY – Hornell Mayor John Buckley recognized another DPW worker for his outstanding contributions to the city’s infrastructure Friday morning. Buckley’s recognition program goes to any city employee that goes above and beyond his or her responsibilities for the betterment of the city.

This months winner, 31 year old Mike Norton, has been employed by the city for over 14 years and performs various tasks such as intricate carpentry work and plant maintenance operations, and according to the Mayor, does an excellent job at whatever he is assigned to do. “Mike is receiving this award for his on the job dedication, skills, positive attitude, and infectious smile.”

Buckley continued, “Mike built new workstations at the HPD and did a great job, actually saving the city considerable money as opposed to purchasing them from a woodworking company. We just told him what needed to be done, and it was there. His carpentry skills are outstanding and a huge bonus for the city!”

Buckley recognizes a city employee every 3 months for their outstanding contributions in various areas to the city’s workforce.
