Jack O. Brizzee, of Canisteo

CANISTEO-Jack O. Brizzee, 78, of Ste. Rte. 248 passed away Tuesday (Jan. 27, 2015) at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell following a brief illness.

 

Jack was born Dec. 12, 1936 in Canisteo to Arlton J. and Eleanor L. (Wilson). On October 27, 1956 in Westfield, he married Rosalie J. Raschiatore who predeceased him in October of 1999. On June 1, 2002 in Arkport he married Carolyn McClintock, who survives and lives in Canisteo. In addition to his parents and first wife, Jack was also predeceased by a brother Cloice Brizzee and a sister Barbara Shutes.

 

Jack was a graduate of Canisteo Central school class of 1955 where he participated in wrestling and basketball. He had been employed as a machinist for the former S.K. F. Company in Hornell. At home he enjoyed gardening and raising flowers.

 

In addition to his wife Carolyn of Canisteo, Jack is survived by four sons: Mike (Narda) Brizzee of Livonia, Jeffrey (Darlene) Brizzee of Canisteo, Jody (Christine) Brizzee of Canisteo and John (Sally) Brizzee of Hammondsport, four step-children: Roy (Judy) Radley of Leroy, Stephen (Joetta) Pollock of South Dayton, Robert (Deborah) McKeown of St. Cloud, FL. and Chaplin Andrew (Tina) Pollock of Orange, FL. He is also survived by three brothers: William (Patricia) Brizzee of Canisteo, James (Lois) Brizzee of Wellsville, Gary (Irene) Brizzee of Syracuse, two sisters: Sharon (Terry) Rudesil of Dansville and Marie Donaldson of Rochester, 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 29 East Main St. in Canisteo where funeral and committal services will take place Saturday at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canisteo.
