Steuben Co’s Travel Ban. Ends At 3:00 Today

STEUBEN COUNTY OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES AND THE STEUBEN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE HAS ISSUED A “TRAVEL ADVISORY” FOR UNTIL 3:00 P.M. FRIDAY AFTERNOON.

COLD TEMPERATURES, FREEZING RAIN, SLEET AND SNOW HAS MADE DRIVING CONDITIONS DIFFICULT ACROSS THE COUNTY. THE COUNTY HAS SEEN BETWEEN 8”-12” OF SNOW WITH A MIX OF SLEET AND FREEZING PRECIPITATION. STEADIER SNOW IS PUSHING OFF TO THE EAST, WHILE SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE AFTERNOON, SNOW AND ICE HAS CONTINUED TO CREATE HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS.

A WINTER STORM WARNING CONTINUES UNTIL 3:00 THIS AFTERNOON, SO THE STEUBEN COUNTY OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES & THE STEUBEN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE RECOMMENDS THE FOLLOWING TRAVEL ADVISORY.

IF YOU DON’T HAVE TO TRAVEL PLEASE STAY HOME. ALLOW PLOW CREWS TIME TO SAND AND CLEAR ROADS. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL MOTORISTS ARE RECOMMENDED TO USE CAUTION. USE CAUTION ON HIGHER ELEVATED HIGHWAYS AND BRIDGES. CALL AHEAD AND MAKE SURE YOUR DESTINATION IS OPEN BEFORE TRAVELING.
