Suzanne M. Washburn, of Almond

ALMOND-Suzanne M. Washburn, 76, of 2 Maple Ridge, Almond, died Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at the Vincent House in Wayland, NY.

Born February 8, 1943 in Hornell, Sue was the daughter of Clifford and Nina (Henshaw) Patrick. She resided in Almond all her life and was a 1961 graduate of Alfred Almond Central School.

On February 1, 1963, she married Richard (Dick) Washburn, who died August 12, 2008.

Sue was employed at Erie Lackawanna Railroad and later at Alfred University, retiring in 2002.

She very much loved her family and was especially proud of her son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving is one son, Daniel (Pamela) Washburn of Almond; sister, Betty Kay (William) Drake of Kane, PA; four grandchildren, Aaron (Kasi) Washburn of Hornell, Bailey (Eddie) McPhatter of Wilmington, NC, Boone (Jackie) Washburn of Hornell, and Kate Washburn of Carolina Beach, NC; four great-grandchildren, Owen and Ryan Washburn of Hornell, Andersen McPhatter of Wilmington, NC and Nash Washburn of Carolina Beach, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sue was also preceded in death by a brother Clifford (Chup) Patrick.

Honoring Sue’s wishes there will be no calling hours. The family will observe a private funeral service at a later date. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Almond, NY.
