US Marshalls And Monroe Co Sheriffs Office – Charge Two Wanted Men

The United States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office
credited with arrests of two wanted violent felons; Tahjmere McKnight and Dennis Lewis.

On June 8, 2022, the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, comprised of
members of the U.S. Marshals Service, Rochester Police Department, New York State Police,
and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, received intelligence regarding two violent felons wanted
for multiple crimes involving illegal gun activity in the city of Rochester; Tahjmere McKnight,
20, Rochester and Dennis Lewis, 20, Rochester.

Acting on a sealed indictment warrant assigned to MCSO for multiple robberies, a shooting and
an assault in the City, members of the USMS Task Force and MCSO SWAT stopped a vehicle
on Henion St., Rochester. McKnight, a passenger in the vehicle, attempted to flee from officers
during the traffic stop. MCSO SWAT members quickly apprehended McKnight, who was in
possession of an illegal .45-caliber semi-automatic handgun, and placed him into custody
without incident.

Later that evening, the USMS Task Force identified Lewis walking down Magnolia St.,
Rochester. As MCSO SWAT members made efforts to apprehend him, Lewis attempted to flee,
but SWAT quickly placed him into custody without further incident. Lewis was in possession of
an illegal 9mm semi-automatic handgun.

McKnight was arraigned on the following charges:
 Robbery 1st
– eight (8) counts; Class-B Felony
 Robbery 2nd
– eight (8) counts; Class–C Felony
 Attempted Robbery 1st; Class–C Felony
 Assault 2nd; Class-D Felony
 Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd
– three counts (3); Class–C Felony
 Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd; Class-D Felony
 Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd; Class-D Felony
 Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle; Class-D Felony

Lewis was arraigned on the following charges:
 Robbery 1st
– eight (8) counts; Class-B Felony

McKnight and Lewis were remanded to the Monroe County Jail without bail. Federal charges for
McKnight may be pending.
