From Zeldin For Governor:
Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), the Republican Party and Conservative Party designee for Governor, and Alison Esposito, the Republican Party and Conservative Party designee for Lieutenant Governor, slammed the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision announcement it would release 8,000 people on parole by today as part of Gov. Kathy Hochul’s Less Is More law, which was spearheaded by now Lieutenant Governor Brian Benjamin during his time in the New York State Senate.
“Crime is skyrocketing, New Yorkers are scared to walk in their own neighborhoods and instead of fighting to secure our street, Kathy Hochul is releasing 8,000 parolees out onto our streets unsupervised,” said Congressman Lee Zeldin. “This law, which should have been called the ‘Less Is Moronic’ law, continues Kathy Hochul’s bad habit of siding with criminals and her radical base over the priorities of everyday New Yorkers and the men and women in blue sworn to protect them. The only way to secure our streets and restore safety to New York is by showing her the door on November, 8, 2022.”
“I know firsthand how difficult it is for our law enforcement officers to keep our communities safe under a Hochul administration which does everything to undermine and demoralize our police and all law-abiding New Yorkers,” said Alison Esposito, who served over 24 years in the NYPD. “We have to fire Kathy Hochul and Brian Benjamin – the champion of this fatally flawed law – stand up for law enforcement and the New Yorkers they protect, restore a balance of power and common sense in Albany and Save Our State.”
