ALBANY, NY – Today during the state budget hearings, State Senator Cathy Young grilled Nonie Mannion, Executive Deputy of the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, about rebate checks being late.
Also, if you think that protest movements are limited to national issues, think again. During the state budget hearings this morning, the alliance for quality education and other groups that want higher taxes on millionaires, crashed the state legislature hearings twice, chanting that “lip service won’t provide” for women, Muslims, teachers and students. Assemblyman Denny Farrell told them that they were “going out the door,” and threatened to have the doors locked.
