From Republican Joe Sempolinski: “I am so honored to be selected by the people of Allegany, Cattaraugus and Steuben Counties to represent them in Albany” Sempolinski stated. “I am eager to get to work fighting for the people. I will always make sure that the voice of the Southern Tier is heard loud and clear at the state capitol. There is much work to be done to get the State of New York back on track. The common sense of the people of this region is sorely needed in state government. I also look forward to working with the people as they navigate dealing with the increasingly intrusive state bureaucracy.”
Mr. Sempolinski expressed thanks to all the voters, especially his family. “My wife and children have been my support and inspiration through this entire campaign. I love them so much.”
Mr. Sempolinski also had words of respect for his predecessor, Joe Giglio. “Joe Giglio has proven you can do the job of Assemblyman with diligence and honor, if you stay focused on the people and not the politics. I hope to live up to his legacy.”
“It was the honor of a lifetime to serve this region in the US Congress.” Sempolinski added. “I am so blessed to be given the trust of the people once again. I won’t let you down.”
The 148th Assembly District consists of all of Allegany and Cattaraugus Counties and a portion of Steuben County.
From Congressman Langworhty’s Press Secretary 10:20pm: “Flagging that AP called the race for Congressman Langworthy”
FROM CONGRESSWOMAN TENNEY: Congresswoman Claudia Tenney decisively won the 2024 General Election for NY-24.
“I am honored by the overwhelming support from the voters of NY-24 tonight. Our grassroots campaign was able to reach voters in every corner of this new district with our message of economic growth, a secure border and safe streets,” Tenney said. “Since representing NY-24, our office has delivered millions for this community, stood up for local taxpayers against oppressive governments in Albany and Washington and remain the only Member of Congress to explain every vote I take on the House Floor in detail. Our unparalleled transparency and aggressive advocacy have resonated with voters across all party lines. While our election may be over, the fight has just begun to ensure President Trump’s victory tonight along with key Congressional Districts. As the founder and Chair of the Election Integrity Caucus, we will continue to closely monitor the swing states and swing districts to ensure that only legal votes are counted,” Tenney continued.
At the time of this release, Claudia Tenney held a commanding lead.
U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand released the following statement:
“This victory makes it absolutely clear that New Yorkers believe in a government that works, and that we must put people over politics. I am committed to finding common sense solutions, which is why I always reach across the aisle to find common ground, from delivering health benefits for first responders and veterans, to taking illegal guns off the street, to bringing down costs for New York families. New Yorkers believe in fundamental truths, like caring about our neighbors and treating others with kindness, decency and respect. That has been, and will continue to be, the hallmark of my public service.”
