50 Year Old Covid Positive Man In Addison, Has Died, And There Are 130 New Cases

BATH – The Steuben County Public Health Department received notification of the death of an individual who had previously tested positive for COVID. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in Steuben County to 223. The individual was a male resident from the Village of Addison who died at the age of 50.

“Our heartfelt condolences are with the family and friends of the gentleman who passed,” said Public Health Director, Darlene Smith. “We strongly encourage everyone who is able to get vaccinated do so as soon as possible as COVID continues to spread in Steuben.”
There are 130 new cases of COVID since Friday’s update. Sadly, another resident has passed. 226 more have recovered. Of the positive cases who are hospitalized, 73% are not vaccinated.
Two of this weekend’s positive cases noted attending a benefit event at the Bath VFW on October 16 while they were infectious. If you attended this event, please monitor for symptoms and consider getting tested.
Four of the positives are associated with Alstom and three are associated with Jasper-Troupsburg Elementary School.
