According to an anti-Common Core organization called “United to Counter the Core”, the numbers of students opting out is a pretty large number state wide.
United To Counter the Core reports that from what they know (which they say is 17 percent of schools state wide) about 68,000 students opted out.
That’s out of only 17 percent of New York State schools, according to United to Counter the Core.
No official numbers from the department of education are out yet.
